“We are so activity oriented we assume we were saved with a task to perform rather than for a relationship to enjoy.” — Henry Blackaby
Matthew 11:28-30 (ESV)
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

John 8:32
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Following Jesus is not about a life of doing things for Jesus; following Jesus is about being with Jesus, so that He can do something in and through my life.
Revelation 2:1-5
“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2 I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. 3 I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary. 4 But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.’”

Following Jesus is not about doing; it is about being.
A. Remember (μνημονευω) = to recall in the mind; to think about
B. Repent (μετανοεω) = a change of the mind; regret & sorrow accompanied by a true change of heart towards God
B. Repent (μετανοεω) = a change of the mind; regret & sorrow accompanied by a true change of heart towards God
“Repentance is a discovery of the evil of sin, a mourning that we have committed it, a resolution to forsake it. It is, in fact, a change of mind of a very deep and practical character, which makes the man love what once he hated, and hate what once he loved.” — C.H. Spurgeon
John 17:3
“And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
“And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
Two Goals of the Christian Life:
1. The Overall Goal = To Know God
2. The Daily Goal = To Spend Time with God
1. The Overall Goal = To Know God
2. The Daily Goal = To Spend Time with God
C. Remove (κινεω) = to cause something to be moved from its customary place
John 15:5
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
