1. What was the CAUSE of their Unbelief?
A. Limited VIEWS
They were limited by what they could SEE, by what they could TOUCH and by what they could UNDERSTAND.
What they had before them was the MESSIAH, the Son of God. What they saw was the CARPENTER, the son of Mary.
B. Limited HEARTS
These people did not want to BELIEVE. They KNEW Him since He grew up in their community and they had familiarity.
2. What was the CONSEQUENCES of their Unbelief
A. The Power of God was LOCKED Up
God is no less powerful because of our unbelief. It’s simply that He has designed that power to be used in RESPONSE to faith.
B. The Provision was LIMITED
Only a few believing folks were healed. The vast majority of them did not receive ANYTHING from God.
C. The Promises were LOST
God made promises to us because He desires to give them to us. Through faith, we receive God’s promises. But through UNBELIEF, they’re lost to us.
3. What is the CURE to Unbelief?
A. Answer: FAITH
B. FAITH is the confident belief in God and His promises, while TRUST is the action of putting that faith into practice.
C. FAITH is something that GOD gives to people, but it's up to us what we do with it.
D. Genuine Biblical faith is more than intellectual agreement and is expressed through LOVE.
Weekly Review Read through Mark 6:1-6 and consider this question: “How could you began to nurture another level of understanding in life where you can truly trust the Lord beyond what your natural senses try to tell you?”
What's Next: Our next Re-Charge lesson will be from Mark 6:7-13 entitled: Sent to the World. Feel free to read and study the text and consider this question before attending: “How did Christ intend for us to be the most affective in preaching and displaying the Gospel message to the world?”
