1. What’s one outfit, hairstyle, or trend you used to love… that you’d never be caught in today? What changed your mind?

2. Read Colossians 3:1–2: Paul says to “set your mind on things above.” What are some ways we can do that in a world constantly pulling us in other directions?

3. Pastor Howard said, “The root determines the fruit.” How have you seen that play out in your life or someone else's?

4. Read Colossians 3:5–6: Paul talks about putting to death our sinful desires. Why do you think Paul uses such strong language? What does it look like to do that in real life?

5. Paul tells us to “put on the new self” (v.10). What does it mean to live like a new creation, and how is that different from just trying to “be better”?
