Life Group Questions
This Life Group season runs from April 27 – June 1, 2025.
Do not bear false witness. While at its core a legal concept, the OT law shows that it is not simply a legal concern, but a concern about truth and virtue.
1. In the sermon on Sunday, there were four ways we misuse truth which were highlighted: Gossip/rumors, slander, hypocrisy, and silence. Are there other categories you would add?
2. If we who follow Jesus are devoted to what is true, why would these issues be of concern?
3. Leviticus 19:11-18 is a good summary of the problem of disobeying the Ten Commandments, and not obeying what it true. What is the effect on family, community, and church of misusing the truth?
4. The early church needed solid instruction on living truthfully. Read Ephesians 4:17-5:7. Ephesians 4:21 reminds us that truth is found in Jesus. What words does Paul use to describe living apart from the truth of Jesus?
5. What does Jesus provide for his followers that changes their lives so they can live truthfully?
6. What are some of the promises and blessings of living truthfully?
