1. Opening question: What is something you used to believe in as a child that turned out not to be true?
2. The sermon looked at Hebrews 1-10 as an intro to a series about faith. What do you remember about each of the main points? What stood out to you?
3. Read Hebrews 12:1-2.
a) What does it mean that Jesus is the “author” or “pioneer” of our faith?
b) How does this help us understand that faith is more than just believing hard enough?
4. Read Hebrews 1:1-4.
a) According to these verses, in what ways is Jesus superior to all others (prophets, angels, etc.)?
b) Why is it essential to start with Jesus when talking about faith?
5. Read Hebrews 4:14-16 and Hebrews 7:23-28.
a) What makes Jesus a better high priest than any human priest?
b) How does this give us confidence to come to God?
6. Read Hebrews 10:11-14.
a) What does it mean that Jesus' sacrifice was "once for all"?
b) How does this affect your view of forgiveness and your relationship with God?
7. Read Hebrews 12:2-3.
a) What did Jesus endure by faith? How does His example strengthen you when you face difficulties?
8. Read Hebrews 10:19-22.
a) What steps can you take this week to "draw near" to God with a sincere heart and full assurance?
9. What is one area of your life where you need to shift your trust from something unreliable to Jesus as your true foundation?
10. Prayer
a) Take a moment to thank Jesus for being the true and trustworthy author of your faith.
b) Pray for one another, asking God to help each person fully trust in what Jesus has done and to draw near to Him with confidence this week.
