True faith is knowing and loving God for who He is, not just for what He does.
Transactional faith is a distorted belief that turns our relationship with God into a contract, believing that if we do our part, God is obligated to do His part.
Transactional faith is a distorted belief that turns our relationship with God into a contract, believing that if we do our part, God is obligated to do His part.
The problem is it feels like faith.
How Do I Know if I Have a Transactional Faith?
1. Do I follow Him because of what He does for me, or because of who He is?
2. Do I still trust God when He doesn’t answer the way I want, or do I feel betrayed?
3. Do I serve God because I love Him or because I’m hoping for something in return?

Realize and decide that God is more than enough.
You may never know that Jesus is all you need, until Jesus is all you have.

Seek God’s face and not His hand.

Believe that God answers every prayer.

God answers prayer 3 ways. Yes. No. Wait.
God will answer ‘No’ if the things we ask for ‘are either not good in themselves, or not good for us or for others, directly or indirectly, immediately or ultimately’. - John Stott
Instead ask: God, what do you want me to learn or do with your answer?
God isn’t a tool for us to use. He’s THE king that we worship.
3. Do I serve God because I love Him or because I’m hoping for something in return?
If you’re doing God’s will to get God’s stuff, you are missing God’s heart.
