THE VIRTUE OF PEACE

Big Idea: Peace is not the absence of problems, but the presence of God who changes how we face them. The Lord is near.


LIVING IN GOD'S PEACE

1. ____________________________ – Your invitation to peace.

Philippians 4:6 (NIV):6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV): Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

PEACE TOOL: The 5-minute prayer break / Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication (A.C.T.S) LIVING IN GOD'S PEACE



2. ____________________________ – Your inner-life with God.

Philippians 4:7 (NIV): And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.


3. _____________________________ – Your mind set on heaven.

Philippians 4:8 (NIV): 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

PEACE TOOL: The Filter of Truth
Test your thoughts: "Is this true? Is this noble? Is this right? Is this pure? Is this lovely? Is this admirable? Is this excellent? Is this praiseworthy?
4. _____________________________– Your everyday decisions.

Philippians 4:9a (NIV): Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.

PEACE TOOL: God's Cycle of Peace
- Name (What's really going on inside me right now?)
- Own (Get honest with God and someone trustworthy)
- Act (What step of faith is God inviting me to take today?)
- Rest (God is at work in you!)

Philippians 1:6(NIV): 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.


5. _______________________________ – The Lord is near.

Philippians 4:9b (NIV): And the God of peace will be with you.

PUT THIS INTO PRACTICE THIS WEEK:
Memorize at least one verse from Philippians 4:6-9.

Practice at least one of the PEACE TOOLS.
