Growth Group / Personal Reflection Questions
1. Why do you believe Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper? Why do we practice communion now?
2. How do the issues Paul raises in 1 Corinthians 11 undermine the reasons for partaking in Communion?
3. What does Paul mean when he writes in verse 17, "... your meetings do more harm than good..." and how can this serve as a warning for how we approach StoneBridge gatherings like growth groups, worship services, and/or worship services?
4. What does it mean to partake of the Lord's Supper in an "... unworthy manner..." and what are the consequences Paul outlines? How might these issues reflect their understanding of Christian unity?
5. Why is the division among the believers such a serious issue in the context of the Lord’s Supper (vv. 18–22)? What does this tell us about the importance of unity in Christian fellowship?
6. In what ways does the Lord's Supper proclaim the gospel and foster unity within the church?
