Sermon Discussion
Applying God’s Word through Journey Groups, family devotions, or personal meditation:
Opener
1. What is something new you’ve learned so far in our study through Genesis?
Recap
2. Read Genesis 6:1-8. What stood out to you most from the sermon? Was there a particular verse or point that resonated with you?
3. In verse 3, God says, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever.” What does this tell us about God’s response to unchecked evil?
4. How do we see God limiting the spread of evil today, if at all?
5. How does it affect you to know that our sin grieves the heart of God?
Digging Deeper—Read 2 Peter 3:3-13.
6. What truth does this passage encourage us to remember when people question Christ’s coming return?
7. What similarities do we see between Noah’s day and the context of this passage?
8. In view of God’s patience in returning how does this passage call us to live?
Application
9. What helps you pursue holiness in the midst of a culture that often runs contrary to God’s ways?
10. How has God worked in your heart through His Word in the past week?
