Jesus Can Handle Everything That Is Urgent And Inconvenient
Mark 5:21-43
The Urgent (Mark 5:21-24)
Jesus Heals in Response to Faith
21 Jesus got into the boat again and went back to the other side of the lake, where a large crowd gathered around him on the shore.22 Then a leader of the local synagogue, whose name was Jairus, arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet,
J- esus’ reputation was growing so much that even some of his opponents (religious leaders) went to Him in desperation.
- God sometimes has to allow hard and difficult circumstances for us to turn to Him and submit.
- Jesus is and was ready and eager to respond to us when we are humble and ask for help.
The Inconvenient (Mark 5:25-34)
25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding.26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse.
32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it.33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done.
- Even when our situation isn’t as dire or as bad as someone else, years of suffering can make it feel that way.
- The trusting God in and through our circumstances is more important than us knowing the outcome of it.
- If your view of God isn’t that of a caring Father who shows deep concern for your needs, you’ve got a wrong view of Him and who He is and what He does.
He Is Always Right On Time (Mark 5:35-43)
While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.” 36 But Jesus overheardthem and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”37 Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn’t let anyone go with him except Peter, James, and John (the brother of James). Mark 5:35-43 NLT
- God has never been late.
- Jesus doesn’t show favoritism by anyone’s status, gender, race, or social standing.
- Jesus is able to conquer demons (5:1-20), disease (5:21-34), and even death (5:35-43).
- Jesus is available to save men (5:1-20), women (5:21-34), and even children (5:35-43).
- Our only hope to be clean before God is the promise an fact that Jesus makes us clean by His blood on the cross.
- Regardless of how severe your situation is, Jesus is willing and able to handle both the urgent and inconvenient.
