What If I'm Not Enough - Doné van Eyk
We often wrestle with deep feelings of inadequacy, especially when it comes to God's calling on our lives. We fear we’re not smart enough, spiritual enough, or strong enough. But Scripture reminds us that God doesn’t call the qualified — He qualifies the called. When God called Moses, He didn’t fix Moses’ weaknesses; He promised His presence. The same is true for us. God's grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in weakness. We are not disqualified by our doubts — we are invited to trust the One who goes with us.

1. The Weight of “Not Enough”
- Many believers find themselves stuck doing nothing, not because they don’t love God, but because they feel the weight of doubt and believe they are “not enough.”
- We compare ourselves to others, let our past define us, and believe we lack what it takes. But God isn’t asking us to be perfect — He’s asking us to trust that He is enough.

2. God’s Call Doesn’t Depend on Our Strength
- When God called Moses, He didn't mention his achievements or boost his confidence but assured him, "I will be with you."
- God's presence, not our performance, qualifies us. Our limitations are where God's power shines most.

3. Grace in Our Weakness
2 Corinthians 12:9
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
- Paul shows us that even great leaders experience “thorns” — ongoing struggles that don’t disqualify them, but rather become places where God’s grace is magnified.
- Weakness is not a reason to retreat; it’s an invitation to rely on Christ.

4. God Overcomes Our Excuses
John 15:16
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you…”
- Moses gave excuse after excuse: “Who am I?” “What if they don’t believe me?” “I’m not a good speaker.” And yet, God answered each one — not with human solutions, but with divine provision. God provides power, presence, people, and words. Even when we resist, God makes a way.
- Feeling “not enough” is real, but it isn’t the end of the story. God is not looking for the most polished person — He’s looking for a heart willing to take the next faithful step. You may not feel ready, but if He has called you, He will equip you.

Remember:
Your feelings of inadequacy don’t disqualify you — they position you to depend on God’s power. You are enough, not because of your skills, but because God is with you. Take the next step. Trust His sufficiency. He is the “I AM” who calls you and goes with you.
