I. Is being born again necessary? John 3:3

What does it mean to be born again? The phrase “born again” can also be translated “born from above”, and it describes the sovereign work of the Spirit of God in which new life is breathed into the soul of the unbelieving sinner, raising them from spiritual death to spiritual life, giving them eyes to see and ears to hear, and enabling them to repent and believe.

A. In order to see the Kingdom of God.

B. In order to enter the Kingdom of God

A. Sovereign work of the Spirit of God (John 3:8)

B. Through the Word of God (1 Peter 1:23-25)

A. You heard the good news/gospel and you understood its message and your need of a Savior.

B. You responded to the invitation of a passage like John 3:16.

C. You responded to that invitation by turning from your sin and unbelief in repentance, and you believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.

D. Your heart was transformed leading to a life of obediently following Jesus. (1 John 3:9)
