Sermon Title: You want me to do what?
Three warnings from today’s passage:

1.Don’t get caught up in legalism.
2.Don’t fall for false teachings.
Jesus said this in Matthew 24:11 as he was prophesying about the
end times, “And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.”
Paul says this in 1 Timothy 4:1, “Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.”
The WORD of GOD is awesome! Paul says this
1 Timothy 4:12, “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”
3.Don’t settle for anything less than God’s best for your life.
The Jews wanted to start the conversation by forcing males to have an UNNEEDED, extensive, private surgery.
The church leaders wanted them to separate themselves from their old, sinful ways and lifestyle, and created bridges for fellowship with other believers.
What sounds more important?
Changing your outside appearance? Changing your heart?
Anyone can come to him, but those who do, must let Him change you from the inside out, completely.
God is still a God of standards, not for legalistic sake, but for our continued growth and effective witness.
Don’t settle for low level living.
You are not called to that.
Rather you are called, as Paul says it:
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” - Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)
