Ultimately, this book is about Jesus - Zechariah has the greatest number of predictions concerning the coming Messiah of all the minor prophets. Zechariah is alluded to or directly quoted more in the New Testament than any of the other minor prophets – at least 41 times.
Zechariah is one of the most difficult minor prophets due to the many apocryphal references. There are flying scrolls, strange women in baskets carried off by women with stork’s wings, and all sorts of different horses.

Discussion Questions - Re-read our main passage from this week (Zechariah 1:1-6) and then with your Growth Group, family, friends, etc. thoughtfully answer the following:
1. What is something new that you learned about Zechariah (the book or the person) and why does it matter?
2. Why is repentance a prerequisite for blessing?
3. Life can seem unfair and cause us to question or doubt God. If we are honest, we must admit that if God was fair we would all be in hell. How does this change your perspective, or does it?
4. Read Psalm 107:43. If someone is reading the story of your life, how would the faithful love of God be demonstrated?
5. How does it encourage you to know that God’s word to Zechariah 2545 years ago is still just as applicable to us today?
6. What’s your next step in response to this message?
