1. Our faithfulness as a believer is in SOWING the seeds of the Gospel, not CONTROLLING their outcome.
Ripen / Mature: Filled up - of hollow vessels; of the soul - to be thoroughly permeated with; lacking nothing, perfect
2. The Kingdom of Heaven grows by The Gospel WORKING through the human heart and bearing the FRUIT of His Spirit.
Four DIMENSIONS of Kingdom Growth.
Fatalism: Their view was because they were CHOSEN by God, there’s nothing they could or couldn’t do to be REJECTED by Him.
1. We were not bad people made GOOD, we were dead people made ALIVE.
2. Your WORRY doesn’t aid your faithfulness.
The Zealots: A faction that combined the theology of the Pharisees with military aspirations of the Maccabees. Believed they could force the Kingdom on earth through revolution.
The Pharisees: Believed the Kingdom to be brought through zealous adherence to the law.
Islam: believes that God’s return will come through great catastrophe and chaos.
If we want to influence the world for the gospel, we must offer it something that it doesn’t have. Peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control.
3. The Kingdom of God is not accomplished through a FORCEFUL crusade but through a FRUITFUL harvest.
4. If Jesus is our king, we must lose CONTROL. If He’s not our king, we’re not part of the KINGDOM.
Weekly Review Read through Mark 4:26-29 while thinking about what is and isn’t your responsibility when it comes to sowing the Gospel into the lives around you.
What’s Next? Our next Re-Charge lesson will be from Mark 4:30-32 entitled: Tapping Your Potential. Feel free to read and study the text and consider this question before attending: “How does the mustard seed illustrate the potential we have in God's Spirit to accomplish all that He's planned for us?"
