The first 4 give instruction on how we relate to God.
1. There are no other God’s — put ourselves before God.
2. There will be no idol worship — protects from worshiping and being influenced by anything less than God.
3. You must not misuse God’s name — do not attribute things to God that He has not done, do not slander His name.
4. Reserve a day to honor God — Sabbath is universal and given as a gift for humans. Rest, worship, grow spiritually.

The next 6 give instruction on how we relate to people.
1.Honor your parents — elevates the family, protects the family structure.
2. Do not murder — protects against the sanctity of life.
3. Do not commit adultery — sexual purity and protects marriages.
4. Do not steal — honors personal property and ensures dignity of generating income.
5.Do not give false testimony against others — protects against injustice and lynch mobs.
6.Do not covet what your others have — protects against greed.
