REVERSE ENGINEERING

2 CORINTHIANS 4.18 (NLT) So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
COLOSSIANS 3.2 (ESV) Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
We work backward from our guaranteed future, living it out in the here and now.
COLOSSIANS 3.1-3 (NLT) Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.
Reverse engineering from the reality of heaven radically changes the way I deal with people and circumstances in my world.
COLOSSIANS 3.18-25 (NLT) Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly. Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged. Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your reverent fear of the Lord. Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.
Kingdom marriage isn’t about who wears the pants — it’s about who carries the cross.
COLOSSIANS 3.23-24 (ESV) Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
COLOSSIANS 3.25 (ESV) For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.
