Jehovah Tsuri - The Lord our Rock

Jehovah Tsuri - The Lord our Rock

God is Jehovah-Tsuri, meaning, “The Lord our Rock”. In a world where we are experiencing continual change we have ONE who is constant to which we can anchor our life. He is unchanging, steady, and provides security. Our God is immovable, unbreakable, a safe place for retreat, and a fortress! He is our true source of strength, our firm foundation, our support, and our defense. We stand on the foundation of God and as the writer of Hebrews reminds us: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Origins of "Jehovah"

YHWH - God's name
ADONAI - Lord

Place the first three vowels between the consonants of YHWH -
YAHOWAH, which becomes JEHOVAH.
Jehovah-Tsuri (The Lord Our Rock)
God is described as our Rock throughout the books of the prophets and Psalms. Our God is immovable, unbreakable, a safe place for retreat, and a fortress! He is our true source of strength, our firm foundation, our support, and our defense.

We’re to cling to Him amidst all circumstances!
Isaiah 26:3-4 (memorize) (Shalom and Tsuri)

"You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace, for it is trusting in you. Trust in the LORD forever, because the LORD, the LORD himself, is an everlasting rock!"
Takeaway:

In a world experiencing continual change… Jehovah Tsuri (The Lord our Rock) is the ONE constant to which we can anchor our life.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Refuge Psalms:
16:1
18:1-19
31:3-6
32:7
36:7
46:1
62:2-8
71:3
91:1-16
94:22
Jesus was that rock in Horeb as the people of God were seeking water...that's what the Apostle Paul points toward in 1 Corinthians 10:1-5

*Be careful that you don’t rely on man-made rocks. Rocks that our culture promotes as this is where security, steadfastness, stability are found…

We are to rely on the one real Rock for our lives to be built on. Make Jesus the One Rock we depend on, our Refuge in times of trouble, and let Him fill us with the Holy Spirit of promise!
“For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?” 2 Sam. 22:32

Ps. 18:31. And “He alone is my Rock and my salvation, He is my fortress, I will never be shaken…

My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty Rock and my refuge” Ps. 62:2,7.

“From the ends of the Earth I call to You I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the Rock that is higher than I” Ps. 61:2-3.
Praise Jehovah Tsuri - God our Rock...the ONE we can count on!

In a world experiencing continual change…
Jehovah Tsuri (The Lord our Rock) is the ONE constant to which we can anchor our life.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
