The Native Language of the Soul: Life as Prayer, Prayer as Life, Revisited

Spiritual director and psychologist David Benner says of prayer that it is "the native language of the soul." It is how we were meant to relate to and commune with God, from the very beginning. In this 6-week Lenten series, we will discover the life we were meant to live and how to engage in prayer well—for God's glory, for the sake of others, and for our own abundant lives in Christ.

How has prayer evolved for you personally over time, and what practices help you maintain a 'pray without ceasing' attitude?
Question to Ponder.

Fifth Sunday in Lent
Almighty God, you know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves: Keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
