3. James and the 500

4. What we'll never know

5. What we do know

2. Pray that the resurrected Lord would be revealed to you also.
Growth Group / Personal Reflection Questions
1. Why are resurrection appearances important?

2. What do we know about the resurrection?

3. Why might Paul highlight the mass appearance to 500 witnesses of Jesus resurrected? How does the large number of witnesses impact the credibility and proclamation of the resurrection?

4. Considering that James, the brother of Jesus, was initially skeptical of Jesus' ministry (John 7:5), how might this personal appearance have influenced his subsequent leadership role in the early church (Acts 15:13; Galatians 2:9)?

5. Paul emphasizes that many of the 500 witnesses were still alive at the time of his writing (1 Corinthians 15:6). How does the availability of these eyewitnesses support the early claims about the resurrection? In what ways does eyewitness testimony strengthen your faith?

6. Why do you think stories of James and the 500 didn't make it in the New Testament?

7. What truths about the resurrection can you rest in?
