You cannot build healthy relationships on lies and pretense, only truth.
3 EFFECTS FROM UNRESOLVED CONFLICT
1) It hinders my FELLOWSHIP with God.
1 John 4:20-21 (NIV) Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
2) It hinders my PRAYERS.
1 Peter 3:7 (NLT) ...Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
3) It hinders my HAPPINESS.
SEVEN BIBLICAL STEPS TO RESOLVING CONFLICT
1) Take the INITIATIVE.
True peace will never come by pretending what’s wrong is right.
Conflict is never resolved accidentally.
3 MUSTS TO TAKE THE INITIATIVE:
1) Deal with our FEAR.
Genesis 3:10 (NLT) He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”
2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
2) Deal with our TIMING.
Matthew 5:9 (NIV) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:23-24 (NIV) Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.
3) Plan a MEETING.
a) Choose the right time.
b) Choose the right place
c) Choose to pray before meeting.
d) Choose to have a positive attitude.
