What do you see as the main problem in the tower of Babel incident?

What was the very first command God gave to mankind?

“Be fruitful & increase in number; fill the earth & subdue it.”
Genesis 1:28

“So that…
1) “…we may make a name for ourselves”
2) “…and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."
Genesis 11:4

Imagine if the entire world population moved to Pennsylvania.

What are some of the problems that would come out of that?

What’s the lesson here for us?

God’s commands are not suggestions.
How many people today are practicing “SELECTIVE OBEDIENCE”?

The 10 Commandments:

“You shall have no other gods before Me” (No idols either)
“You shall not misuse God’s name”
“Remember the Sabbath Day by keeping it holy”
“Honor your father and mother”
“You shall not murder”
“You shall not commit adultery”
“You shall not steal”
“You shall not lie”
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house…”

“Surrendered” doesn’t mean “perfect”.

Surrendered means humble, willing & yielded to God.

My next steps with God this week:

- Personal surrender
Examine my life for “selective obedience”.
Are there any areas I still need to surrender to God?

- Family surrender
Is there a family member I need to let go of so they can spread out and go where God is calling them?

- Sharing hope
