Blessed: happy, fortunate; to be approved of, to find approval, favored by God
1. Christ teaches that it is those who pursue HUMILITY, not glory, that are NEAREST to God.
A. True gospel humility means I stop connecting every experience with myself and how it affects my bottom line. It pushes me to become less obsessed with myself and gives the freedom of self-forgetfulness.
2. The things we have to SAY should come from the VICTORY we’ve received.
Authority: Exousia - power, rule, authority over mankind; dominion
3. The victory in your LIFE is revealed by the condition of the things in your CONTROL.
4. There is no way to RECEIVE some of what God has without admitting your NEED.
5. Faith isn’t just believing what God can DO, it’s equally trusting He can SEE more than you.
6. We have to be careful to not confuse our LOUDEST desires with our DEEPEST ones.
7. The true path to power is SERVICE, we find wealth by GIVING ourselves away, and we triumph over sin by giving Him our WEAKNESS.
