Marked - Week 4
“Marked by His presence”
March 30, 2025
Jeff Huisjen
A disciple ______________________ Jesus, ______________________ like Jesus, and ____________________ like Jesus.
(John 10:14 & John 10:47)
Jesus ___________________________ time in the _____________________________ of God.
(Luke 5:16)
There’s no __________________________ that can’t be made better by the _____________________________ of God.
(Mark 1:35-36, Matthew 14:13a, Luke 6:12-13, Psalm 16:11, Psalm 103:2-3, & Galatians 5:16)
Being marked means spending ___________________ in the ______________________________ of God.
When you spend time in the presence of God, you _______________________ the presence of God with you.
(John 15:5)

Go Deeper:
1.Think about a time in your life you got a physical mark, maybe a scar or a tattoo. What does seeing that mark make you think of? Do you use it as a reminder of anything or has it changed your behavior? Why or why not?
2. What does being marked by God mean to you? What does being a disciple of Christ mean to you? What correlations do you see between those two ideas? Do you think you can have one without the other? Why or why not?
3. Have you ever found yourself saying “That doesn’t seem very Christian.” in response to something you or someone else did? What did that look like? Why did you respond that way? Do you think there’s a difference between behavior management and heart change? Why or why not?
4. Why was it important that Jesus prioritized spending time with God? How does that apply to the idea of us being marked?
5. What were the three times that Jesus prioritized time with God we looked at? Which one stands out to you the most? Why? What were the three reasons Jesus prioritized time with God we looked at? Which one stands out to you the most? Why?
6. Do you believe that there’s no problem or situation that can’t be made better by time in God’s presence? Why or why not?
7. What daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly rhythms can you build into your life to prioritize spending time with God?
8. To go even deeper with this week’s sermon, join a Hills Group to discuss the questions above with other people in our community. To join or lead a Hills Group, visit hillschurchnm.com/connect.
