God’s Heart for Missions 🌍
Pastor Todd Blansit
New Life Church
March 30, 2025

Our guest Missionary speakers are
Justice Daniel and Jacob Nichols
Missions is not an optional aspect of a believer’s life. It is the very purpose of God’s people.
If we love God, we will love what He loves, and God loves all people.
God’s Mission from the Beginning
From the moment Adam and Eve sinned, God initiated His redemptive mission (Genesis 3:15). He made a promise that one day the seed of the woman would crush the serpent’s head.
God’s covenant with Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3 reveals His heart for the nations: "In you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Israel was chosen to be a light to the nations (Isaiah 49:6), demonstrating God’s desire to bring all people to Himself.

The Great Commission
Jesus’ final words to His disciples were a command to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).
The early church obeyed this call, spreading the gospel throughout the Roman world (Acts 1:8, Acts 13:2-3).
The apostle Paul’s missionary journeys show the gospel is for all people!

God’s Mission Fulfilled in Revelation
Revelation 7:9 gives us a glimpse of the fulfillment of missions, a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language worshiping before the throne of God.

Missions will not fail because it is God’s plan. The question is, will we be part of it?
The Urgency of the Mission
The Lost Condition of the World
Romans 3:23 states that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Without Christ, people are spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1-3).

Jesus Himself spoke of the reality of eternal separation from God (Luke 16:19-31). (Rich man and Lazarus)

Currently, over three billion people are unreached with the gospel. They do not have access to the good news of Jesus Christ.

The Shortness of Time
Justice Daniel
None of us are guaranteed tomorrow.

Jesus taught that we must work while it is day, for the night is coming when no one can work (John 9:4).

The world is changing rapidly, and opportunities for the Gospel must be seized now.
The Harvest is Plentiful, But the Laborers Are Few
Every believer is called to be part of the mission, whether by going or sending.
How We Can Fulfill the Mission | Jacob Nichols

Go

Some are called to physically go.
Send
Those who do not go can support missionaries through finances, encouragement, and prayer.

We must be mission-focused, sending and supporting those who take the gospel to the nations.

Pray

Prayer is the fuel of missions. Jesus commanded us to pray for laborers (Matthew 9:38).

We should pray for the unreached, for missionaries, and for God to open doors for the gospel.
Spiritual battles are fought and won in prayer (Ephesians 6:12-18).
Give
Financial resources help send missionaries, translate Bibles, and provide relief aid that opens doors for the gospel.
Jesus said where our treasure is, our heart will be also (Matthew 6:21).
Sacrificial giving reflects the heart of God
The Role of the Local Church in Missions
A Mission-Minded Church

The local church is God’s primary means for advancing the gospel.
Healthy churches train, equip, and send missionaries.
