Genesis 9:18-10:32

1. Noah’s DIRTY LAUNDRY
2. The curse of CANAAN (why not Ham?)
While God was preparing to bless one people (the Israelites), He was also preparing to judge another (the Canaanites).
Were the Canaanites cursed (and judged) for their own sin, or for the sin of Ham?
1. THE CHOICES OF ONE PERSON will affect their descendants after them, either for good or evil.
2. EVERY PERSON HAS THE FREEDOM to make different choices than their ancestors made. (again, for good or evil)

How does God intend for us to apply what we find in Genesis 9 & 10 today?
1. Generational curses and blessings are real, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THE FINAL WORD.
2. Your own dirty laundry from the past DOESN'T HAVE TO DEFINE YOU.

My next steps with God this week:
- Am I living under the new legacy of Jesus, or the old legacy of my human family?
What is the legacy I’ve received from my parents? (blessings & curses)
What is the legacy I've received from my Heavenly Father?
- To overcome the curses and generational sins from my family of origin, I need to more fully embrace my new identity as a child of God. What is one thing I can do this week to take another step in that direction? (See Philippians 3:3-4:1 for some biblical thoughts on this)
