Tithes (maasar a noun) a tenth part.

Tithing (dekate) a worship practice of giving one tenth of all our earnings to God through His church.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. Matthew 23:23

Offerings- (minchah) gift or offering, often presented to God as an act of worship or devotion beyond our tithe

Give (didomi)to offer over financially to someone.
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of ]necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food,]supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 2 Cor 9:6-11

1. Tithing as a Principle.
Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.19 And he blessed him and said: "Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand." And he gave him a tithe of all. Gensis 14:18-20

2. Tithing as a Law/Command
For the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer up as a heave offering to the Lord, I have given to the Levites as an inheritance; therefore I have said to them, 'Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.' " Numbers 18:24

3. Giving as a Grace
But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you[a]—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7

When you tithe, you’ll do more with nine-tenths and God as a partner than you will ever do with ten-tenths of yourself.

ANALYSIS: The Power of Tithing and Generosity

1. Tithing helps to Fund God’s House and God’s Work.
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, Vs 10

2. Tithing positions us for supernatural Provision.
And try Me now in this," Says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. Vs 10

3. Tithing positions us for supernatural Protection. "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," Says the Lord of hosts; Vs 11

4. Tithing positions us for supernatural Promotion. "And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land," Says the Lord of hosts. Vs 12

5. Generosity positions us for supernatural Production.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.Matthew 6:19-21
