Two qualities of a healthy marriage, as designed by God:
1. Companionship (v 18-23)
1. Companionship (v 18-23)
2. Commitment (v 24-25)
Sermon Discussion
Applying God’s Word through Journey Groups, family devotions, or personal meditation:
Opener
1. Think of a godly couple whose marriage you really respect. What is praiseworthy about their relationship?
Recap
2. Read Genesis 2:18-25. What stood out to you most from the sermon? Was there a particular verse or point that resonated with you?
3. What is unpopular in today’s culture about God’s design for marriage?
4. In what ways have you experienced or witnessed the beauty of God’s design for husbands and wives in marriage?
5. Why is commitment such a critical element in God’s design for marriage? What happens if commitment is not present?
6. Consider Ephesians 5:22-33. How does human marriage illustrate Christ’s relationship with His people?
Digging Deeper—Read Colossians 3:12-14.
7. How have you seen the necessity for these qualities in your marriage or other close relationships?
8. Whether you are married or not, how do these qualities reflect God’s desire for our relationship with one another in the church?
Application
9. How can we as the church support and encourage marriages in a culture that often devalues them?
10. As a single person, how can you celebrate and uphold the beauty of God’s design for marriage, even today?
