hey
Conflict is INEVITABLE!
Thankfully, Jesus lays out a step-by-step plan for how to handle conflict between believers.
STEP 1: GO TO THE PERSON PRIVATELY
Why is it important to not skip this step?
STEP 2: TAKE ONE OR TWO OTHERS WITH YOU AND TRY AGAIN
Should you only bring in people who are automatically going to be on your side?
STEP 3: TAKE YOUR CASE TO THE CHURCH
What is the point of having church leaders present at this step?
STEP 4: MOVE ON, BUT KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
Should you still love and honor this person if they refuse to reconcile after steps 1-3?
There are two TRUTHS we can pull from Matthew 18...
TRUTH #1
God's heart is about reconciliation, not revenge

What should be the motivation behind each step of this process?
TRUTH #2
Gossip doesn't have a place in this process

Why do we tend to talk to everyone except the person who hurt us?
There are three KEYS to a confrontation conversation...
KEY #1
Be ready to forgive
If you're not ready to forgive the person, are you ready to confront them?
KEY #2
Choose your words carefully

Why should we think and pray over the words we are going to say?
KEY #3
Be direct but kind

Why is this the most difficult part of the conversation?
How to be direct but kind:
1) Get straight to the point
2) Don't yell
3) Allow them to respond
Confrontation isn’t easy, but it is necessary to build and maintain healthy relationships.
