2/23/25 Spiritual Warfare : Strongholds
Pastor Mark has been teaching on spiritual warfare. I continue in that vein this morning by talking about strongholds used by the enemy to try and destroy our relationship with God. It's not only satan who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but it's a whole host of spirits that seek our destruction. One of their most insidious methods of seeking our destruction is by establishing strongholds in our minds that conflict with Holy Spirits's work in our lives to conform us to the image of Christ and to enable us to fulfill God's purpose.

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.
If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained, you will also suffer a defeat.
You will succumb in every battle if you know neither the enemy nor yourself.
1. Who or what are we fighting against?
(1) evil rulers and authorities,
(2) mighty powers in this dark world, and
(3) evil spirits in heavenly places.

2. What are strongholds?
Do you have persistent negative thoughts?
Do you have emotional struggles?
Are you held captive to addictive behaviors?
Do you have relationship issues?
Do you resist spending more time with God?
Do you have a distorted view of yourself?
Do you suffer from unresolved past traumas?
Do you have irrational fears?
Do you have a distorted worldview?
Do you covet what others have?
Are you unable to forgive someone?
Do you adhere to legalism?
Do you harbor unconfessed sin?
3. How do we eliminate strongholds that impact our relationship with God?
God’s mighty weapons.
Pray and ask Holy Spirit to reveal the issues underlying the stronghold.
Repent.
Pick up the Bible and read it.
Believe in the power of God's word and His ability to break strongholds.
Worship and praise.
Use the power of fasting.
