Repentance Made Simple (Malachi 3:6-12)
Sunday, February 23, 2025 - Message #4 by Pastor Doug Corlew; "Call To Me" Stewardship Series
Locations & Times
1000 S Main St, Alta, IA 51002, USA
Sunday 8:30 AM
Sunday 10:00 AM
When God calls His people to return to Him, the pathway is often not complicated.
1. STOP ROBBING GOD (v 6-9)
1. STOP ROBBING GOD (v 6-9)
2. START TESTING GOD (v 10-12)
Sermon Discussion
Applying God’s Word through Journey Groups, family devotions, or personal meditation:
Opener
1. What is something you have given away (time, money, possessions) that has brought unexpected joy?
Recap
2. Read Malachi 3:6-12. What stood out to you most from the sermon? Was there a particular verse or point that resonated with you?
3. Why are the people of Israel accused of “robbing God” (v 8)? Can we rob Him too?
4. How does it influence your Christian life to know that God does not
change (v 6)?
5. How does the concept of tithing in the Old Testament compare with the New Testament’s emphasis on generosity? (Consider 1 Cor 16:2 and 2 Cor 9:6-8.)
Digging Deeper—Read Luke 19:1-10.
6. How does Zacchaeus’ willingness to give demonstrate true repentance?
7. Jesus declares, “Today salvation has come to this house” (v 9). What does this tell us about the connection between salvation and a transformed life?
8. Compare this story with that of the wealthy man from last week (Mark 10:17-31). What are the key differences in the responses of these two men to Jesus?
Application
9. If someone said, “I can’t afford to give,” how would you encourage them to trust God’s provision?
10. How has God used this stewardship series in your heart during the past month?
