Confess means literally to say the same thing, to agree!
When we confess Christ, we are ascribing to him two things:
- Ownership
- Deity

Confess your sins to God for forgiveness
Confess our sins to one another for healing.
Three dimensions to sin:
- Sin done by us
- Sin done to us
- Sin done around us

We do not confess to one another to be forgiven. We confess to one another to be healed! Forgiveness comes from God. Healing comes in relationships.
Sin loses its ability to keep us fractured when we confess.
Strongholds lose the control they have in our lives when we confess.

Confessing our sins to one another in the body of Christ can break the power of secret sin.
Confession is courageously naming our woundedness and wickedness in the presence of a loving community as you journey together toward wholeness.

A continual relationship of confession and forgiveness among brothers and sisters in Christ cultivates honesty and purity, and reflects the unity the church is meant to embody.
