How Can We Be a Church with Resolve?
1. Model CHRIST
2. AFFIRM Relationships
3. Pray for WISDOM
4. CONSIDER Jesus' Teachings
Teachings that Many Christians Seem to Ignore
1) You cannot SERVE both God and money, Luke 16:13
2) Love and pray for your ENEMIES, Luke 6:27-28, 35
3) Turn the other CHEEK, Luke 6:29
4) DENY self, take up Christlike suffering, Luke 9:23
5) Following Jesus is more important even than FAMILY, Luke 9:57-62, 14:26, 21:16-17
6) HELL is real and many people are headed there, Matthew 7:13, 13:50, 25:46
7) We cannot be loved and accepted by both Jesus and the WORLD, Luke 21:17
8) FORGIVE others or God will not forgive you, Matthew 6:14-15
9) Deny Jesus before men, get DENIED by Him before God, Luke 12:8-9, Matthew 10:32
5. Resolve DISPUTES Outside of Secular Court
6. PROVIDE Opportunity to Share
Three Important Things to Remember
1. Have a LOVE for each other like Christ has for His Church
2. Operate in POWER and Corporate PRAYER
3. Fight the Good Fight for the PURITY of the Church
What Else Does Purity Do in Our Lives?
1) Promotes caution, discernment, and good choices while preventing corruption in thought, word, and deed.
2) Supports good health and a long life and leads to satisfaction and peace.
3) Highlights faults in our lives and leads us toward godliness, honoring the conscience God gave us.
4) Inspires us to avoid stumbling blocks and helps us live free of guilt and regret.
5) Cultivates a community of loving individuals with honor and affection.
6) Governs our relationships with others—and helps to ensure that all relationships are appropriate with proper borders.
