RACE AGAINST THE HORSES - PART 5
We will be using Jeremiah as the main book but focusing more on the auto/biographical portions of the book when God speaks directly to Jeremiah as a person with a calling or when Jeremiah shares his own reflections about his relationship with God. The phrase "race against the horses" is a reference to the fact that Jeremiah is not living up to his potential and an invitation to live for more. His calling and God's invitation is that our best life or living at our best is when we live by and with radical/bold/expectant/dependent faith in God ...

FEBRUARY 9, 2025 | MATT EVANS
Jeremiah 25:1-3
God gave Jeremiah a future and he stuck with it.
→Persistence in our God-appointed purpose.
2 Part Purpose:
1) Live in a special (personal & community) relationship with God (love God)
2) Do good for the glory of God (love others, live sent)
Cultivating Persistence in Purpose:
1) By faith, believe in the maximum of “life in Christ.”
2) Quickly recognize and say “No” to “less than” living
3) Know and stay vitally connected to the Source = God!
Insufficient Sources:
a) This life (or horizontal) sources
b) Within ourselves
c) Dutiful vs. Delightful faith
Questions:
a) Am I living stuck?
b) Have I neglected God’s means of grace?
c) What fills my mind daily?
d) Does “this” help me run?
God never runs out.
