At some point we all face a crisis. What will we do? Jehoshaphat gives an outstanding example of how to walk through it.

1. Pray (2 Chronicles 20:1-12)
a. Pray
b. Fast
c. Invite others in
d. Remember God’s greatness, promises, and character
e. We do not know what to do, but we can keep our eyes on the Lord

2. Patience (or, Don’t Panic!) 2 Chronicles 20:13-17)
a. Listen: To God through God’s people and God’s Word
b. Fear and anxiety come from looking around or inward
(Philippians 4:4-7)
c. Remember who’s battle this is: Remember what we do,
what God does
d. God ALWAYS answers: More of Himself and a growing relationship
e. Material or earthly reward is not guaranteed

3. Praise (2 Chronicles 20:18-21)
a. Praise God, before the results are known
b. Praise God for who He is and his promises
c. Trust God with the results
4. Proclaim (2 Chronicles 20:27-28)

God’s contrarian strategy and result: Go in the strength you have, with dependence upon the Lord. (2 Chronicles 20:21, 20:33; Judges 6:14, 16; Matthew 1:23, Matthew 28:19-20)
