TITLE: Love Not The World
SERIES: The Father's Heart: A Journey Through 1 John
TEXT: 1 John 2:15-17
Three points of attack by the flesh:
1. The lust of the flesh.
2. The lust of the eyes.
3. The pride of life.
Three responses we can take:
1. Examine our priorities.
2. Beware of cultural compromise.
3. Practice spiritual warfare.

Study Guide Questions:
1. What does it mean to 'not love the world' according to 1 John 2:15-17? Identify one area of your life where worldly desires may compete with your love for God. What practical steps can you take this week to shift your focus back to eternal values?
2. How do 'the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life' manifest in modern society? Reflect on a recent decision you made. Were you motivated by fleshly desires, material possessions, or pride? How can you guard your heart against these temptations in the future?
3. How does our identity as citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20) shape how we interact with the culture around us? Think about your workplace, school, or community. How can you reflect kingdom values instead of conforming to worldly pressures?
4. Jesus resisted the devil's temptations in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). How can His response help us overcome the world's temptations? Memorize one of Jesus' responses to Satan (Matthew 4:4) and use it as a weapon against temptation this week. When you feel drawn to something that conflicts with God's will, declare His truth over your situation.
