INEXPRESSIBLE: Love Poured Out

INEXPRESSIBLE: Love Poured Out

Two times in scripture (1 John 4:8 and 16), we are told that "God is love." Love is very much the nature of God. It is, in fact, one of the main words God uses to reveal himself and his character to Moses in Exodus 34. God is a God who abounds in love and faithfulness and who maintains love to thousands. Exodus 34.6-7 is the most often quoted passage in the Old Testament. Clearly God wants us to understand that, at the core, he is a God of Love. In this sermon series, we will explore different facets of God's steadfast, loyal love and the ways God's love engages us and all creation.

Question to Ponder.
What do you think it would’ve been like to witness the outpouring of the Holy Spirit?
Question to Ponder.
Read the passage and Galatians 5:22-6:10. What are the characteristics of a life in the Spirit?
Question to Ponder.
What kind of witness would the Church have if we were filled with the Spirit? How would we look the same as today? How might God be calling us to receive a deeper work of grace?
Third Sunday after the Epiphany
Give us grace, O Lord, to answer readily the call of our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim to all people the Good News of his salvation, that we and the whole world may perceive the glory of his marvelous works; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
