Why did God reject Cain’s offering?

1.“In the course of time” – it appears that offerings to God were already a regular thing.

2. Cain brought “some of the fruits of the soil” while Abel brought “fat portions” from “the firstborn of the flock.”

3. As the worship of God developed over time, 2 concepts became a normal part of worship: the “tithe” and “first fruits”.

1. Give God your BEST.

Does the way you give to God reflect that He has your heart?

What has God given YOU?

2. Give God your WORST.

We’ll never give God our BEST if we don’t first give Him our WORST.

Which lesson do you most need to learn from Cain?

- Give God my best. I need to evaluate my approach to giving to God. Am I really giving Him my best?

- Give God my worst. There is something in my life I need to let go of. It’s time I give that to God.

- Receive God’s gift – His best. I need to put my trust in Jesus & His sacrifice for my forgiveness. I want to begin a relationship with God.
