Study Guide Questions:
1. What does it mean that "God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5)? Reflect on how God's light has revealed truth in your life. Where might you still be living in the shadows? Ask God to shine His light in those areas to bring clarity and transformation.
2. How can we discern if someone's message is truly from God (1 John 1:5-7)? Compare teachings or advice you receive with Scripture this week. Make it a habit to evaluate messages against God's Word to remain grounded in truth.
3. What is the difference between walking in the light and darkness (1 John 1:6-7)? Consider your patterns of behavior. Are there areas of habitual sin or secrecy that need to be confessed? Write down one way to actively walk in the light in your daily life.
4. Why is confessing sin essential to maintaining fellowship with God (1 John 1:8-10)? Begin a daily practice of confession, not out of fear but to restore joy and fellowship with God. Reflect on the truth that Jesus' blood purifies you and draws near to Him with gratitude.
