Each of our stories fit into one BIG story, the story we call the Gospel.
The word Gospel literally means good news. It was a cultural word that the first Christians adopted to describe what Jesus has done in an easy-to-share way.
Before Jesus = Bad News
After Jesus = Good News
After Jesus = Good News
TRUTH #1
The Gospel is a story of freedom

What do you think of when you hear the word condemnation?
I tend to think of a courtroom scene of someone being on trial for committing a crime. They can either be condemned or set free.

Our lives before Jesus are very similar to that courtroom scene. Even the best, most polished among us is guilty of sin.
Because of God's great love for us, He made a way for us when there was no way. He freed us from the penalty for our sins.
TRUTH #2
The Gospel is a story of redemption

Being found NOT GUILTY isn't quite the same as being found INNOCENT.
God doesn't just choose not to punish us for our sin. Instead, He chooses to see us as if our sin never existed in the first place.
What happens when I mess up again?
TRUTH #3
The Gospel is a story that is ongoing

If you are worried that God's forgiveness might run out one day, take one more look at the first verse we read.
This verse doesn't say "LESS condemnation" or "for those who belong to Christ Jesus... FOR NOW." This statement is definitive and stands on its own.
The Gospel is not something that only happened once. It's a gift that God gives us every single day.
TRUTH #4
The Gospel requires a response
