Elements City Church
Why Church? week 1 - The Call to Fellowship
As we study the establishment of the Church within scripture there are some key pillars that the gathering of people called the Church is to stay anchored too and living out. We’re called to fellowship in the family of God and to level up our commitment to one another where we become blessed and we participate in blessing others.

Mission statement:
…an inviting community of Jesus followers, commissioned by the gospel to make disciples by cultivating relationships that reflect the love of Christ.
We are one church within the global CHURCH that Jesus established and launched that has a mission of making God known and brining His good into the world. The CHURCH has 5 key pillars that flow from the Great Commandment and Great Commission given us by Jesus. (see Matthew 22:34-40 and 28:18-20)

“In Christ, we find unity in our diversity. It's not about erasing our differences but recognizing that our true identity is found in him.”

FELLOWSHIP MATTERS

BELONGING
The Christian life is not just a matter of believing.
It is matter of belonging, and you and I must chose to belong.

SHARING
Acts 2:44. "All the believers met together constantly and shared everything with each other."
—you can't develop friendships without time together — without sharing.
share our experience, share our hearts, share our homes and meals, share time together, share our burdens, share God's truth and encouragement.

PARTNERING
Partnering is doing my part - you’ve got a contribution to make; a gift to share; that the family of God needs you.
Church is NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT.
1 Corinthians 12 - we're each gifted in order to bless others...
— around here, we say: membership is participation

LOVING COMMITMENT
Romans 12:10 says "Be devoted to each other like a loving family." (GW)
1 Peter 2:17 Respect everyone, and love the family of believers…
We know John 3:16 -- but we're to live out 1 John 3:16 as well.
1 John 3:16,
“This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

a Prayer:
Father, next to salvation, a relationship with YOU - the greatest gift you have ever given us is the opportunity to be a part of your family. Thank you that we don't have to go through life disconnected or isolated. Thank you for rescuing us individually and then enfolding us into this collective gathering called The Church - and thank you for creating the Elements church family for all of us here. Would you please leverage us to invite others into relationship with you and into your family…
Father, we want to be a part of your family and we want to learn to love your spiritual family like you do. Forgive us for taking it casually at times. Help us grow in the levels of fellowship; choosing to belong. Grow in sharing and making time to develop real friendships. We each want to do our part / participate in the family of God and we want to learn to love other believers like brothers and sisters. Jesus teach us the meaning of real love and empower us to really live it out.
