Redemption means to deliver by paying a price
This is the work of Christ - the work of Christ fulfilled is found at the cross of calvary; it can be summed up or set forth by using three principal greek words.
1.) Agorazo - meaning - to buy in the market - it is taken from the word agora - (market)
Man is viewed as a slave “sold under sin” - Romans 7:14 and under the sentence of death (Ezek 18:4,20, John 3:18-19, Romans 6:23) but man is subject to redemption by the purchase price of the blood of death (this is the cost of man’s freedom or salvation) 1Cor 6:20, 7:23, 2 Peter 2:21, Rev 5:9, 14:3-4
2.) Exagorazo - to buy out of the market - in other words, to purchase the item or remove it from further sale - Gal 3:13, 4:5, Eph 5:16, Col 4:5 - the finality of the finished work of the cross is that you have been taken out of the marketplace no longer for sale.
3.) Lutroo - to loose and or set free - 1 Peter 1:18 and Titus 2:14
