1. Is There a Spirit WORLD?
The Bible teaches that there is a spirit world populated, not by GHOSTS, but by spirit beings which were created by God. We know them as ANGELS and DEMONS.
2. Who is SATAN?
A. He was originally one of the CHIEF angels that led a REBELLION against God.
B. In the Bible, Satan is called the DESTROYER, Rev. 9:11; the ENEMY, Luke 10:19; the father of LIES & a MURDERER, John 8:44; the EVIL one, Matt. 5:37; and many other things.
C. Satan is God’s enemy, but Satan cannot ATTACK God because God does not have a sin nature and never believed the lies of Satan.
D. Satan knows his DOOM is sure so he wants to bring as many people down with him as he can.
E. Satan’s FALL must have occurred somewhere after the angels were created and before he tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
F. Satan became exalted in his own pride and was THROWN out of heaven and CAST down. He took a third of the angels with him. The best support in Scripture for that is found in Rev. 12:3-4.
3. What are ANGELS?
A. GotQuestions.org defines angels this way: Angels are an entirely different order of being than humans. Human beings do not become angels after they die. Angels will never become, and never were, human beings. God created the angels, just as He created humanity. The Bible nowhere states that angels are created in the image and likeness of God, as humans are (Genesis 1:26). Angels are spiritual beings that can, to a certain degree, take on physical form. Humans are primarily physical beings, but with a spiritual aspect. The greatest thing we can learn from the holy angels is their instant, unquestioning obedience to God’s commands.
B. Angels are ETERNAL, but they are not OMNISCIENT (meaning all knowing) like God.
C. Angels are not OMNIPOTENT (meaning all powerful) like God, but they are far more powerful than any man.
D. Angels are ACTIVE in the lives of believers. In Daniel 6:22 God sent His angel to shut the lions’ mouths and save Daniel from death.
4. What is a main PURPOSE for angels?
5. Is There Such a Thing as Spiritual WARFARE?
A. We’re in a STRUGGLE, but it’s not against other humans, it’s against spiritual forces of WICKEDNESS (demonic powers).
B. The choice we have is between becoming an effective SOLDIER or becoming a defeated CASUALTY. We’re guaranteed the win if we’ll fight.
C. The purpose of demon spirits is like their leader, Satan. It’s to fight against God’s KINGDOM and God’s PEOPLE. But Satan and his demons are liars.
D. Scripture reveals that the primary place of demonic ASSAULT on Christians is our MINDS. Demons seek to influence the way we think.
6. Are There Supernatural WEAPONS?
A. The supernatural weapons available to us are offensive and defensive pieces of ARMOR.
B. We attack the enemy thru PRAYER and the use of God’s WORD. We reject his attacks by being CLOTHED in the armor of God.
C. The function of God’s Word and prayer is to change our MINDS, not His, and to TRANSFORM our minds to think Biblically.
D. There is one PREVAILING reason why all of this supernatural weaponry is utilized. The reason is "that we may be able to resist."
E. While we find no evidence in Scripture that a Christian can be demon POSSESSED, there is evidence that they can be under an attack to the point that a condition of OPPRESSION could be called bondage.
F. If the influence over your mind is SEVERE and deep-rooted, it may take the faith filled prayerful intervention of other believers to help you walk out your freedom in CHRIST.
