This challenges us today. Are we as diligent in seeking the truth of God’s Word? In a world filled with shallow information and quick opinions, we must be people who carefully investigate God’s truth. We cannot build our faith on borrowed beliefs. We must make the truth our own by digging deep into Scripture, asking questions, and seeking understanding.

Theophilus, whose name means lover of God, was likely an influential person who had already been taught about Jesus. But teaching isn’t always enough; sometimes, we need reassurance. Faith can waver, doubts can creep in, and questions arise. Luke understood this, and so he wrote his Gospel as a foundation for unshakable faith.

Our pain forces us to make a decision: Will we rejoice in the Lord, even here? I want to answer yes, but a wounded spirit often struggles to muster anything that feels remotely like joy.
