Genesis 1:26,27, Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Why do we need God?

1. Practical help for daily life.

- Proverbs 15:1, A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.


2. Purpose for living.

- Ephesians 2:10, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.


3. Peace that goes beyond circumstances.

- Philippians 4:7, …The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.


Big idea: You were made for a vibrant relationship with God.

1) Seek the Lord with all your heart.

- Jeremiah 29:13,14, You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, declares the Lord…


Psalm 27:7-9, Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! 8 You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.” 9 Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation!


Jeremiah 29:13,14, “You will look for me, and you will find me. When you look for me wholeheartedly. Then I will let you find me.”


2) Be God’s friend.

- I Corinthians 1:9, God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.


John 15:15, No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.


3) Just open the door and the Lord will walk through.
