Song Lyrics |
ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH
VERSE 1:
Angels we have heard on high,
Sweetly singing o'er the plains.
And the mountains in reply,
Echoing their joyous strains:
REFRAIN:
Gloria In excelsis deo!
Gloria In excelsis deo!
VERSE 2:
Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be,
Which inspire your heavenly song?
REFRAIN:
Gloria In excelsis deo!
Gloria In excelsis deo!
VERSE 3:
Come to Bethlehem and see
Christ whose birth the angels sing!
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King!
REFRAIN:
Gloria In excelsis deo!
Gloria In excelsis deo!
Words: Traditional French Carol,
tr. source unknown, 1862,
alt. Music: Traditional French Carol;
arr. Warren M. Angell, 1907.

PSALM 41
VICTORY IN SPITE OF BETRAYAL
For the choir director. A psalm of David.
1 Happy is one who is considerate of the poor;
the Lord will save him in a day of adversity.
2 The Lord will keep him and preserve him;
he will be blessed in the land.
You will not give him over to the desire of his enemies.
3 The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed;
you will heal him on the bed where he lies.
4 I said, “Lord, be gracious to me;
heal me, for I have sinned against you.”
5 My enemies speak maliciously about me:
“When will he die and be forgotten? ”
6 When one of them comes to visit, he speaks deceitfully;
he stores up evil in his heart;
he goes out and talks.
7 All who hate me whisper together about me;
they plan to harm me.
8 “Something awful has overwhelmed him,
and he won’t rise again from where he lies! ”
9 Even my friend in whom I trusted,
one who ate my bread,
has raised his heel against me.
10 But you, Lord, be gracious to me and raise me up;
then I will repay them.
11 By this I know that you delight in me:
my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
12 You supported me because of my integrity
and set me in your presence forever.
13 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Amen and amen. -- (CSB)

Song Lyrics | THE FIRST NOEL
VERSE 1:
The first Noel the angel did say,
was to certain poor shepherds
in fields as they lay.
In fields where they lay
keeping their sheep,
on a cold winter's night
that was so deep.
VERSE 2:
They looked up and saw a star,
shining in the east beyond them far,
And to the earth it gave great light,
and so it continued both day and night!
REFRAIN:
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel!
Born is the King of Israel!
VERSE 3:
And by the light of that same star,
Three wise men came from country afar;
To seek for a king was their intent,
and to follow the star wherever it went.
REFRAIN:
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel!
Born is the King of Israel!
VERSE 5:
Then let us all with one accord,
sing praises to our heavenly Lord;
That hath made heaven and earth of naught,
and with His blood mankind hath bought!
[REPEAT REFRAIN 3X]

SONG LYRICS | SILENT NIGHT
VERSE 1:
Silent night, holy night,
all is calm, all is bright.
Round yon virgin Mother and Child,
holy Infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
VERSE 2:
Silent night, holy night,
shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
heavenly hosts sing Alleluia.
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born.
VERSE 3:
Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love's pure light,
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.
Music by Franz Xaver Gruber

Song Lyrics | WHAT CHILD IS THIS?
VERSE 1:
What Child is this who laid to rest
on Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
CHORUS 1:
This, this is Christ the King!
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, haste to bring Him laud -
The Babe, the Son of Mary
VERSE 2:
So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh;
Come peasant, King, to own Him;
The King of Kings, salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him!
CHORUS 2:
Raise, raise a song on high -
The virgin sings her lullaby!
Joy, joy for Christ is born -
The Babe, the Son of Mary!
VERSE 3:
Nails, spears shall pierce Him through
The cross He bore for me, for you;
Hail, hail the Word made flesh:
The Babe, The Son of Mary!
CHORUS 1:
This, this is Christ the King!
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, haste to bring Him laud -
The Babe, the Son of Mary
CHORUS 2:
Raise, raise a song on high -
The virgin sings her lullaby!
Joy, joy for Christ is born -
The Babe, the Son of Mary!
