Welcome to Element
We strive to ensure the biggest thing people think when they hear about Element is Jesus! We are a Gospel centered community who finds our identity in Jesus.
Central Coast Prayer Network Night of Prayer
The Central Coast Global Prayer Network exists to raise up intercessors and laborers from the Central Coast to the Nations. They hold events all over the Central Coast, so it is our pleasure to be the host church for their January gathering which will be Thursday, January 9th from 6:30-8:30. It will be a time for prayer, community and dessert as we pray for God's mission to spread locally and globally. All are welcome!
Annual All Church Business Meeting and Ministry Update
If you are someone who loves to know where all the money went, and where it is budgeted to go, this meeting is for you! If you are someone that likes updates on our growing ministries, this meeting is also for you! At this meeting, all are welcome and will hear from our Board, as well as some of our staff and various ministry leaders to highlight some things from 2024 and update you on where we hope to go in 2025. This meeting takes place right here in this room on January 26th at 12:30pm.
Alzheimer Awareness Presentation
On behalf of the Classics, Element's ministry for those 60+, ALL (regardless of ages) are invited to an upcoming presentation on the warning signs and early detection of Alzheimer's. We hope this event will be informative and beneficial to the community as we learn more about how to care for aging populations. The Alzheimer's Association will be presenting material and also offering a Q&A period following their presentation. Whatever your age, please feel free to join us in the Element sanctuary on Sunday, February 9th, from 1-3 PM...and feel free to spread the word, as this event is open to the public.

The Carols
Week 7 - Auld Lang Syne
Today we will look at a song NOT inspired by Scripture—“Auld Lang Syne,” the song we commonly associate with the New Year. This song raises a rhetorical question about what should be forgotten. This message explores the role of remembrance through a Biblical lens, framing it as an active process rooted in God’s character. We see over and over how God’s faithfulness transcends our own forgetfulness. Through our remembrance of God’s faithfulness, and His hand in our own story, we’re invited into deeper trust as we navigate future unknowns.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
• Did you set any resolutions/goals for the New Year?
What Does the Text Say?
• Read (Psalm 77:11-15) together. What words or phrases stand out to you?
• How does the Psalmist approach remembering God’s deeds?
Understanding Deeper
• The sermon discussed the Hebrew word “zakar” (remember). What makes this understanding of remembrance different from
simply recalling a memory?
• Discuss the 5 aspects of Biblical lament. Which of these do you find most challenging or natural? (Praise to God for His mighty acts, complaint of distress, protest of innocence, petition for deliverance, and declaration of confidence in God’s faithfulness & vow to praise).
• What are some common “false narratives” people tell hemselves about God, themselves, or life experiences?
Application
• In the past year, where have you most clearly seen God’s faithfulness?
• What would it look like to practice lament in a healthy, Biblical way?
• How can you cultivate a posture of trust, knowing that God has been faithful in the past?
Next Steps
• Choose one practical way you will intentionally remember God’s faithfulness this week.
• Commit to reading through a Psalm of lament this week.
CHRISTMAS MISSION ACTIVITY
Purpose: To intentionally notice and share God’s joy during the Christmas season.
Steps:
1. Create a “Joy Journal” for December.
2. Daily, record one “wonder of God” you notice (in nature, relationships, circumstances, etc.).
3. Share your observations with at least one person each week.
