Connect with a Pastor!
Are fear and uncertainty causing you to struggle with your faith? Do you need encouragement? Are you struggling with your marriage or with parenting? Is someone in need of healing? Sometimes, all we need is a shoulder to lean on or a caring person to talk to. Our pastors are here to listen, offer prayer, and provide Biblical insight.
Whatever you are going through, don’t go through it alone.

Key Points:
1. What is the night?
2. The Shepherd's Vigil (Luke 2:8)
The Shepherd's Vigil would include:
Anxiety for the Flock: A shepherd knows that danger lurks in the shadows. In John 10:11, Jesus says, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” This anxiety mirrors our feelings of worry for family and friends, highlighting the weight of responsibility.
Physical Exhaustion: Standing vigilant through the night takes a toll on the body. In Psalm 127:2, we read, “He grants sleep to those he loves.” We often find ourselves worn out by the demands we place on ourselves, forgetting to listen to our own needs.
Loneliness: The night watch can be a solitary experience. In Psalm 34:18, we are reminded, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” As we carry our burdens, we may feel isolated in our worries, when in reality, we are not alone in these feelings.
Staying Alert: The shepherd must constantly remain attentive, prepared to act at a moment’s notice. In 1 Peter 5:8, we are encouraged to “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” This level of alertness can lead to mental fatigue, akin to the emotional strain of being ever-watchful over loved ones.
Facing the Unknown: Each night brings uncertainties, just as life does. In Philippians 4:6-7, we are called to “not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” We grapple with fears about the future, not knowing what challenges may arise.
Everything we experience throughout our lives, and many of these emotions, are amped up in the Christmas season. We are in need of a divine interruption to bring us glad tidings of good joy!
