REDISCOVER THE WORSHIP
Rediscover Christmas | Week 3 | Ken LaMont
WORSHIP IS RESPONDING
MARY & JOSEPH | WORSHIP AS SURRENDER
Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” – Luke 1:38
When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. – Matthew 1:24
Where do you need to surrender?
SHEPHERDS | WORSHIP AS PRESENCE
When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” – Luke 2:15
How can you make time in Jesus’ presence a priority this Christmas?
MAGI | WORSHIP AS GIVING
They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. – Matthew 2:11
What gift will you give to Jesus this Christmas?
ANGELS | WORSHIP AS SONG
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” – Luke 2:13-14
Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world. – Isaiah 12:5

LIFE GROUP DISCUSSION:
SERMON RECAP:
Pastor Ken emphasizes the importance of worship in the Christmas story as a response to God's actions. He highlights the examples of Mary and Joseph, who demonstrate worship through surrendering to God's will. The shepherds teach us to seek God's presence, and the Magi show that giving can be a profound act of worship. Ultimately, Pastor Ken calls on everyone to recognize and respond to God's work in their lives this Christmas season.
SHARE: What is your favorite Christmas Song? Why do you think music is such a big part of the Christmas celebration?
READ: LUKE 1:38 & MATTHEW 1:24. What does it mean to worship God through surrender, as demonstrated by Mary and Joseph in the sermon?
READ: LUKE 2:8-18. How can the shepherds' experience of being invited to see Jesus change our understanding of who can come to God?
READ: MATTHEW 2:1-11. Why is giving considered a form of worship as explained in the message about the Magi, and what gifts did they bring? What does your current approach to giving—whether time, resources, or talents—say about your relationship with God?
DISCUSS: Which area of worship comes easiest for you? Which do you struggle with? What can you do this Christmas season to increase your worship?
