Matthew 13.1-23
Job 30.20 (ESV) I cry to you for help and you do not answer me. . .
Matthew 13.9 (ESV) He who has ears, let him hear.
We must identify the obstacles that exist between us and God. .
Matthew 13.15 (NLT) For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes. . .
My sin. My busyness (distraction). My unbelief.
Psalm 51.11 (ESV) Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Matthew 13.15 (ESV) . . . they have closed their eyes.
Mark 6.6. (NLT) He was amazed at their unbelief.
Romans 8.14-17 (NLT) All who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.
